Mary Beth Asaro
The Glowing Light
Nightly mist
slowly follows
the site
of rusty tracks.
The earth groans
filling the air
with a jamboree
of boot rhythms.
A whispering breeze
carries the echoes
of orange languages
long forgotten.
A lamplight
moves back and forth
in the distance
turning shades of white glaze.
The city clock
rings the hour
in the glowing light
of a cemetery.
