Cleo Griffith
Angry Skin
(Veronica at 16)
Today the sun comes up,
tonight the moon will appear,
tides repeat and seasons revolve
in their silly cycles.
Bored.
There is no climate soothing
to my angry skin,
nor fragrance pleasing to my
nostrils.
Where can I go
to hear voices, see faces,
I can bear?
So then the sun goes down.
But of course it is really the earth
in a twirl.
I understand that.
I just don’t care.
